This week-long workshop in the lovely Brenne lakes region in the middle of France focuses entirely on in-the-field acoustic methods, following a scientific program developed in France since 1988. This method is based on manual species identification, combining in-the-field listening in heterodyne and time expansion with computer analysis, along with integration of the behaviour of the individual bats studied. This method will provide the surveyor with deeper knowledge and understanding, allowing them a greater capacity for action and reflection at all stages of collection, processing and interpretation of data.
